Have you ever thought how much effort and time villagers spend, especially women, for a simple activity - carrying water?
Out of 1 in 6 people in India carry several LITRES of water in pots on
their heads walking a distance of 8km every single day! All of this just
so they can wipe out their thirst.
A company named “Wello” was unhappy with that. But unlike many others
who do nothing but complain, they aimed to act towards the problem.
Several months of research and designing gave birth to “The Waterwheel” -
the invention shown in the photograph. Simple, elegant and
super-efficient.
It enables anyone to carry 50 litres of water - almost 5 times as much
as before - with less time and less effort. What’s more? Its very
affordable, as you can guess by its simple mechanics and ease to
manufacture. Wello has a noble mission: to effectively deliver clean
water to a thirsty world.
Who said all the big inventions are happening on the computers? As they
say, wheel is one of the most important inventions in the history of
mankind.
