துருக்கி - ஈரான் எல்லையில் உள்ள உர்மியா ஏரியானது ஒரு எண்டோர்ஹிக்
உப்பு ஏரி ஆகும், அதாவது தன்னுள் கொண்டிருக்கும் நீரை பிற நீர் ஆதாரங்களில்
கலக்க விடாத வண்ணம் நீர் வைப்பு கொண்டிருக்கும் ஒரு மூடிய வடிகால்
ஏரியாகும்.
ஈரானில் உள்ள கிழக்கு அஜர்பைஜான் மற்றும் மேற்கு
அஜர்பைஜான் ஆகிய மாகாணங்களில் அமைந்துள்ள இந்த ஏரியானது மத்திய கிழக்கிலேயே
மிகப்பெரிய ஏரியாகும்.
சுமார் 5,200 சதுர கி.மீ பரப்பளவு, 140
கி.மீ நீளம், 55 கி.மீ அகலம் மற்றும் 16 மீட்டர் (52 அடி) ஆழம் கொண்ட
இதுதான் பூமியில் ஆறாவது பெரிய உப்புநீர் ஏரியாகும். பெரும்பாலான ஏரிகளை
போலவே பச்சை நிறமாக காட்சியளித்த இந்த உர்மியா ஏரி, திடீரென்று இரத்த
சிவப்பாய் உருமாறியது..?!
நாசாவின் புவி கண்காணிப்பு (NASA's Earth Observatory) உர்மியா ஏரியின் இந்த உருமாற்றத்தை தெளிவாக பதிவு செய்துள்ளது.
இந்த
ஏரி இன்று இரத்த சிவப்பாய் காட்சியளிக்க, அதன் மாற்றத்திற்கு காரணம்
அதனுள் எதோ கலக்கப்பட்டு விட்டது அல்லது அதனுள் இருந்து எதோ ஒன்று
எடுக்கப்பட்டது விட்டது என்று நினைக்க வேண்டாம்.
2016-ஆம் ஆண்டு ஏப்ரல் 23 அன்று எடுக்கப்பட்ட புகைப்படத்தில் உர்மியா ஏரி ஒரு வசந்த பச்சை நிறத்தில் இருந்துள்ளது.
பின்பு
முழுமையாக 3 மாத கால இடைவெளி கூட இல்லாமல் 2016-ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜூலை 18 அன்று
எடுக்கப்பட்ட உர்மியா ஏரி புகைப்படத்தில் அது தற்போது இருப்பது போன்றே
சிவப்பு தொனியில் மாறி இருந்தது.
இதற்கு
விசித்திரமான காரணங்களை யோசிக்க வேண்டாம் இந்த மாற்றத்திற்கு காரணம்
நிச்சயமான அறிவியல் தான் அதாவது - நம்பமுடியாத வறண்ட கோடை தான்.
அதனால் தான் ஏரியில் நீர் மட்டம் குறைந்துள்ளது, ஏரியில் நீர்மட்டம் அதிகம் குறையவில்லை என்றாலும் கூட அதில் நிறைய உப்பு இருக்கிறது.
ஏரி
தண்ணீரின் அதிக உப்புத்தன்மை (The higher salinity of the water) தான்
அதனை முன்பு கண்டது போல் பச்சை நிறத்தில் இல்லாது சிவப்பு நிறத்திற்கு
மாற்றியுள்ளது.
இதே
போன்ற ஒரு விசித்திரமான மாற்றத்தை நாம் பிற ஏரிகளிலும் காண முடியும்
அதற்கு சிறப்பான எடுத்துக்காட்டு - ஐக்கிய அமெரிக்க நாடுகளின் மாநிலத்தின்
வடக்குப் பகுதியில் அமைந்துள்ள கிரேட் சால்ட் லேக் (Great Salt Lake,) -
உட்டா ஏரி..!

ஏரியின் நடுவே ஒரு இரயில் கடல் பாலம் அமைக்கப்ட்டது அதனை தொடர்ந்து
உர்மியா ஏரிக்கு ஏற்பட்டது போன்றே உட்டா ஏரிக்கு ஒற்றைபக்க நீர்மட்ட குறைவு
ஏற்பட ஒரு பாதி பச்சை நிறத்திலும் மறுபாதி சிவப்பு நிறத்திலும் காட்சி
அளித்தது.
இவைகள்
ஒரு தற்காலிக மாற்றமாகத்தான் இருக்கும், கடந்த காலங்களில் வறட்சியின் போது
உர்மியா ஏரியானது சிவப்பாகவும் மழை காலங்களில் பச்சை நிறத்திற்கு
திரும்பியும் உள்ளது.
ஆனால்,
நாசாவின் கணிப்போ, ஈரான் வறட்சி அதிகரிக்கும் அதனால் உர்மியா ஏரியின்
நிரந்தரமான நிறமாய் இரத்த சிவப்பு இருக்க சாத்திய கூறுகள் உண்டு என்கிறது.

BIZARRE: Nasa have discovered something very strange about this lake
Something unusual has happened to a lake in Iran and it's been captured by Nasa's Aqua satellite.
In
a matter of months, Lake Urmia has turned bright red. The breathtaking
expanse of water might look like a martian landscape, but the weird
phenomenon has been caused by the tiny organisms living in it.
As
the mystical lake's waters dry up over the hot summer months it becomes
saltier, providing a feast for microscopic organisms which turn the
water crimson.

Normally the Iranian lake looks a deep green colour so it was a
shock when the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS)
picked up it's shocking transformation.
The images shows that on April 23, the water was green, but by July 18, it was blood-red.
Experts
believe the anomaly has been caused by two groups of organisms: a
family of algae called Dunaliella and an archaic family of bacteria
known as Halobacteriaceae.
